BMS World Mission has given a further £40,000 to support ongoing and essential relief work in Burma and China.
China
£5,000 has been given for tents, blankets, medicines and food for those still living with the aftermath of earthquake damage (via Hungarian Baptist Aid).
Burma
£15,000 has been sent to assist with the provision of rice, blankets, mosquito nets, clothing and medicine through a network of 4,000 churches, as well as supporting initiatives to provide longer-term housing (via the Myanmar Baptist Convention).
£10,000 has been given to assist a small in-country team who are providing food, fuel and tarpaulins as well as rebuilding efforts for 600 families (via Operation Mercy).
£10,000 has been given to Hungarian Baptist Aid, who have staff in Burma, and are distributing food, water and emergency supplies in close partnership with the Myanmar Baptist Convention.
These relief grants bring the total giving to the Burma and China appeals up to £65,000, and would not have happened without your support.
