Church planting in Rouen (March 2008)

Reuben and Katie Martin are church planting in a tough area of Rouen, France. They praise God and ask for prayer for a number of things:

“Recently two members of our youth group have asked for baptism, five people have made a re-commitment to follow Jesus, three people have asked to become members of the church and six to seven others have started attending or re-attending our services. God is good.

“On top of that, our upgrade of the building has begun. The church entrance hall – which will form the inside section of our café – has been decorated vibrantly… two walls yellow, two walls mauve and doors and woodwork a kind of jade colour. (Sounds horrible but trust me it rocks!)

"As a church we want to place prayer at the heart of everything we do

“As a church we want to place prayer at the heart of everything we do. To that end we are planning to set aside a room at the front of the church (leading off our vibrant hall) for prayer.

“The aim is to create a prayer room where people are constantly interceding for our church, our estate and the world!

“Obviously it will take time to build up this prayer momentum but it will kick off on Saturday 15 March with a day of prayer where we will especially be praying for our Easter events.

“We hope Easter will be an exciting time for our estate. Over the next few weeks we will visit 3,000 homes, knocking on doors with an invitation to our Easter events on Friday and Saturday nights as well as an Easter morning celebration.

“Please pray many will come. Pray that many of our members will participate in the distribution. And please pray that we will make good contacts both on the doorsteps and in the church building.”
