BMS World Mission

Electrician needed in Ecuador – needed April 2010 or later

Short-term opportunity in Latin America
BMS has a mission centre in Guayaquil, Ecuador, which is used to accommodate visiting short-term teams and volunteers. BMS workers Pete and Vicki Butchers also live in the centre, together with their four children.

The mission centre is in good general condition, but is at an age when problems are beginning to appear with the electrics and a general overhaul is badly needed. We are therefore looking for an electrician, or someone with good electrical knowledge, who would be able to stay for two or three weeks to do a rewiring job on the building.

Accommodation is available in one of the self-contained apartments joined to the house. As Pete and Vicki are due to return to the UK for a visit from December until April, ideally we’d be looking for someone from mid-April onwards.

Pete would provide all the help and local knowledge necessary and there would be opportunities to get to see the mission work they are involved with in the slums of Guayaquil and beyond.
