An Unappetising Advert

Would you respond to this advert? "Come and live in Kosovo in a town with unreliable water and electricity supplies, inadequate sewage systems, poor roads and public transport connections, an almost complete absence of cultural or sporting activities, and a staggering 70% or 80% unemployment." Two young British women and a young international family did. Together, they make up a new BMS team that has recently begun to live and minister among one of Kosovo’s poorest and most marginalised ethnic-minority people groups.
One of
the team, Jas, has been in Kosovo for over 10 years. The international couple, Dmitri and Daria, have experience elsewhere but only arrived in Kosovo with their two young children in October. The final team-member, Layla, flew out last week following her commissioning service, at which Philip was pleased to be the preacher. Do pray for this team and their new work. We'll tell you more after Philip visits for a week in March.
On the family front, our children are back at university, following the Christmas break, and Lydia is enjoying her first work placement - shadowing a community midwife for five weeks. During what was supposed to be a couple of days off at New Year, Philip was given the task of hemming several pairs of Lydia's new uniform trousers! Here in Massy, we are gearing up for a busy period of travel through February and March.
With warm wishes and our thanks to you for reading the blog,
Philip and Rosemary.
