Transforming lives on four continents

Day of Prayer: Focus on Europe

Posted by bms_prayer at 11:00 on 13th February 2012

Europe

Remember Philip and Rosemary Halliday, based

in France, as Philip travels extensively around

Europe and the Middle East in his role as BMS

Regional Team Leader.

Pray that more ministers/ministerial couples will

come forward to serve with BMS in continental

Europe.

Albania

Pray for Vlora Baptist Church where BMS worker

Graham Sansom, due to retire this summer, is

in the process of handing over the leadership to

Albanian colleague Ylli Beqiraq.

Pray for Christian nurses Jen, Flutura and Jona

as they provide healthcare and education in

Shkoze, building further links between the

church and the community.

Pray for GDQ School in Tirana, where around 100

children of 19 different nationalities and coming

from 32 Christian missions are learning and

growing together. BMS workers there include

Gary Anderson, David and Fiona Lea, Susan

Lodge, Jill Morrow, Nikki and Roger Pearce and

Jane Waites.

Croatia

Some 38 young Croatian Baptists have

just completed a new leadership training

programme. Pray for Svjetlana Mraz, programme

director, and for the future impact of these

young leaders.

France

Pray for the 20 or so Baptist church-plants

throughout France and for BMS workers there:

John and Sue Wilson (Lyons) and Phillip and

Vivienne Hatton (Metz).

Hungary

• The Roma in Hungary account for around nine

per cent of the population. Among them are

growing Baptist fellowships from which Roma

teams are being sent into neighbouring Ukraine,

Slovakia and Serbia.

Italy

The majority in Italy remain culturally Catholic

but increasingly cynical about the Church.

Pray for BMS workers there: David and Ann

MacFarlane (Calabria), Huw and Alex Anderson

(Basilicata) and Amanda Redwood (Florence).

Kosovo

Pray for BMS worker Layla and supported

partner workers Dmitri and Daria, in the first

year of a new ministry among one of the

marginalised minority ethnic groups in Kosovo.

Remember the Kosovo Action Team – Zain,

Dexter and Phoebe (names they have adopted

to protect their identity).

EBF Indigenous Missionaries Project

Pray for Daniel Trusiewicz from Poland who

co-ordinates the European Baptist Fellowship’s

Indigenous Missionaries Project. The Project

raises funds from the West to support

indigenous church-planters across Eastern

Europe

Pray for the 60 couples currently being funded

by the Project to work among their own peoples

in 24 different countries. BMS is supporting

couples in Albania, Estonia, Russia, Serbia and

Ukraine.

Such an interesting view on Kosovo. "marginalized minority ethnic groups in Kosovo". Are you referring to Serbians???
I think its wrong to give such view on a country just by getting opinions from one group of people living in Kosovo. It's very BIAS. I don't get the idea of keeping secret the names of your teams in Kosovo. Kosovo is a country open to all people and religions. Despite the fact that the majority of the population belongs to the Islamic faith there also other religions such Christian Catholics, Orthodox Christians, Protestants (different denominations). People in Kosovo are quite liberal and accept all people and religions. Kosovo has become a major centre for drugs and the trafficking of women. I'm just wondering where are you getting this statistics and views. From the Government of Serbia maybe ???? Very WRONG!
