This is a difficult, challenging, academic and personal book which sets out to redress the imbalance between Western and Eastern Christologies through the stories and experiences of women in India, Korea, the Philippines and Hong Kong.

It speaks primarily from the worldviews of oppressed women, who take part with Jesus in a journey.

Some may find the ‘re-interpretations’ of Jesus offered here go beyond the point from which the Jesus of Scripture remains recognisable to them.

However the author’s stated aim is to move through this discussion towards life in all its fullness in Christ, through highlighting the pain and struggle Christianity itself has brought to women.
