Pray for Mozambique & South Africa (17-23 July)

BMS has been in partnership with Mozambique for many years now, particularly supporting the pre-school work, but it has been over 20 years since we sent any long-term workers.

The arrival of our first BMS workers earlier this year marks a development in the partnership as we seek to support the Baptist Convention (CBM) particularly with the work in the poorer areas in and around the city of Beira. Our prayer focus is on Mozambique and its neighbour South Africa.

Pray for:

• Mozambican pastors and theological students who are studying and working in South Africa.
• The South African Baptist College students and staff. Pray particularly for Principal John Nthane.
• Dan Pratt teaching in the South African Baptist College and in the national youth leadership programme.
• Geoff and Christine Holder beginning language study in Beira with their two children, Isaac and Naomi.
• The life and witness of the CBM churches as they seek to reach out to the local community.
• CBM General Secretary, Moises Quembo as he leads the denomination and pastors a large church.
• The few Christian lawyers in Mozambique as they consider establishing a Christian lawyers group.
