It went well and he has been discharged from hospital.
He will spend the next five months in Vellore receiving tests to check that the transplant is sucessfully received by the body.
Tlana’s wife Madini was with him until he was discharged and then she returned to Kathmandu where their three children were finishing school at KISC.
On Wednesday (11 July) they arrived in Mizoram where they have a large family and where they will remain and admit the children into local schools.
Many thanks for all your prayers and please keep the family in mind as Tlana’s recovery continues.

After months of waiting for a suitable donor match, a BMS Nepal worker will undergo crucial kidney surgery this week.
Tlana Hnamler’s operation at Vellore Christian Hospital in India is fixed for this Thursday (31 May).
In his mission development role, Tlana has hiked over Nepali hills and valleys for years, and used to run marathons, but unfortunately suffered a stroke two years ago, from which he has been recovering gradually.
It then became clear last year that Tlana was experiencing kidney failure that required surgery, and which we asked supporters to pray about last August.
After a lengthy series of tests on various family donors from Tlana’s home state of Mizoram, a suitable donor was found, and the necessary legal process completed.
Tlana was admitted to hospital on Saturday for monitoring and his donor will arrive on Wednesday, a day before surgery.
Margaret Gibbs, BMS Team Leader for Asia, asks UK supporters to pray this week for Tlana, his wife Madini and their children Immanuel, Joshua and Ruth (pictured above).
“The family has been with BMS in Nepal for many years. Tlana and Madini have made significant contributions to the Nepal Baptist group's development work and latterly in theological education at their Bible College.
“Please pray for a smooth and successful process, and for peace for all the family at this time.
“Pray for Madini and Immanuel, who are with Tlana in Vellore, and pray also for Joshua and Ruth, who remain with family members in Kathmandu to continue with their schooling.”
